  • There is a space for Name and a blue button at the bottom “Add New Add On Category” at least there is for me…

I don’t want to add a new add on CATEGORY. I need to add a new ADDON. Do you see where I can do that?

We just added a food item and assigned one of the Add-on categories to it

How did you get it to show up as an add on on the menu item? For instance, I’ve got Smoothie. Add ons: protein poweder $2, avo $1.

I’m not seeing how I can get my menu to look like the demo:

    https://demo.restropress.com/

Where clicking on item give add ons like sides and cookies, etc.

SO – it is a bit counterintuitive:

Create a food Item Category : ‘Smoothies’
Create an Add-on Category : ‘Smoothie Add ons’
Create an add-on category: ‘Avo’ BUT make it a sub-category of parent category ‘Smoothie Add ons’

Assign all the add-on categories to your main food Item in addition to the Main Category.

    So your Smoothie would have:
    Food Category: Smoothie
Add-on Parent Category: Smoothie Add ons
    Add-on Sub-category: Avo

    etc…

That will look like the demo…

    Yowsa!

But, hey! It’s free! Ain’t gonna to be a chooser!

    I’ll try this out.

    Thank you!

Yeah – it has a few things which might be simpler – but we have found it pretty effective for some of our clients for whom Woo Commerce is over-kill…
Hopefully those instructions makes sense! Took us a bit of trial and error to get it to do what it needed to do…

It’s also coming in handy since 90% of the Worlds restaurants are closed to dine in. Here in Santa Barbara, CA folks are struggling, this looks like a quick way to get something up and running without the tedium of WooCommerce and having up to 40% taken out for commission by using third party services.

Thank you for your help and stay safe!!!
    ??

Exactly – we have been scrambling to take our clients online – same here in British Columbia – I’m online for a few more hours if there is anything else we may help with. You stay Safe as well!

    Hey Barry,

How did you get around the small/large sizes? Just make it an addon? “large” = +$1.50?

Yeah – we made everything an ‘Item’
that way people can order multiples of an item…

People can’t order more than 1 of an Add on I believe …

    Here is our latest: https://doucediner.com/order-online/

    That is some FINE work!!!!

So, I’d add large smoothie, small smoothie as separate items.

Or better yet, convince client that in these times One size fits all will do!

Yeah – I think the best way we found (which isn’t necessarily THE best way) was to have everything as an individual item unless it was some non-price related thing like ‘extra honey’ or ‘strawberry flavour’
    =) -b-

Once again. It’s free. So, I’m not complaining. And for a free plugin it’s quite generous in what it offers. Future updates and addons will smooth things out for sure!

Now, I can move forward knowing there wasn’t something I was missing!

BTW: I visited your website. You guys look like a fun bunch!

    ??
    A~

Hmmm… This can be modified for other industries as well.
