New “post” treated as “page” (template)

    I have ~40 posts, all in one single category.
    I had modified index.php template and all these old posts are showing up as expected.

    After the latest WP update, if new post is created, it is now treated as page and is using page.php
    The new post has excactly the same settings as the older ones, but only the new one is using a different template…

    What could be wrong or should I just be using a more specific template (single-post.php ?) for my posts from now on?
