    hey,

What is the smartest way to edit a LIVE Elementor Page, when using Autoptimze + WP Fastest Cache. So before I edit the site, i deactivated those 2 plug ins, do my changes, save it and reactivate the plug ins again. Then I empty and clear both caches. But still sometimes It will show some weird “updates”, like the site is still in editing mode and not looking finished. If i open in incognito mode, all looks great. Because our customers are coming often back to the site, I am afraid that they will see also the “weird looking” updates, because I do not know much people who delete there cache or use incognito mode ?? Thanks a lot!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

you could untick the “also optimize for logged in administrators/ editors” option in autoptimize instead of having to deactivate it?

try viewing your site in a different browser or in an anonymous/ private window, that should give you an idea of what visitors see?

    Hey @optimizingmatters

    thanks for the quick update!

I have just unticked it now ??

    So my question is:
When a user was on my site yesterday…and today in the morning i do some updates…then after i delete the autoptimze cache. The user comes back today in the afternoon: Will he instantely see all updates? Or will he see the old version from yesterday, unless he cleares his own browser cache?

    Thanks!

There normally is no need to clear AO’s cache; AO detects changes in JS/ CSS if any and will generate new optimized files.

re. users; depends on the browser caching the HTML response (which AO does not set/ change/ manage). if WPFC has a setting that tells browsers they can cache a page for 30 days (just a number, could be hours as well), then the user will not see the new version. but I’m not a WPFC specialist, so not sure really.

    hey @optimizingmatters

thanks, i understand, tbh i have no clue…in the settings i can not set any of those numbers in WPFT ?? But I can clear and delete the WPFT cache…should that not work?

I just also asked in the WPFT support thread…lets see ??
