Can I safely uninstall WP-Optimize without changing any of my website content or losing any configuration data?

  • Hi Mike,

Yes you can safely uninstall WP-Optimize. Nothing should change on your site.
If you have page caching enabled in WP-Optimize, you may want to disable it first.

    Marc.

    Hello,
I am also facing uninstalling problem. I am not able to uninstall Wp-optimize plugin from dashboard, cpanel, and FTP.

Could you tell me how could I uninstall it?

I would not know how to uninstall using cpanel or FTP. However, from your website’s WordPress dashboard, go to the Installed Plugins page, find WP-Optimize and disable it. I believe it can be uninstalled only after it is first disabled.

That’s the only way I know how.

    Hello,
    I have disabled it.
I am getting this message “Could not fully remove the plugin wp-optimize/wp-optimize.php.”

I’m sorry; I cannot help. I will guess, though, that Marc will respond when he can (as he did to my question).

@bimaljaiswal This sounds like the process was interrupted somehow, and some files left on the server.

To remove it completely, you’ll have to use an FTP client or (an other solution to access the files on your server), and delete the wp-optimize folder. It is in wp-content/plugins.

Nb: In the future, it’s best to open your own support topic, to avoid the other users on the topic to receive lots of notifications.

    Best wishes,

    Marc.
