301 redirects

  • I′m about to move a site from a develop slot to live today. I have installed a plugin but when I set in the redirect from adress it′s the develop slot not the live slot. Is that correct and will that domain name change when going live?

  • Why do you need to do redirects from your develop to live? Do you mean you want to swap out URLs? You can update them in WordPress under Settings -> General. If you can’t get to your WP-Admin on your live site you can make a change to the WP config to force the new URL.

    My client have done some SEO on the old site and we don′t want to loose that SEO when activating new site. Therefore we are into a 301 redirect of old urls to new site.
