images not loading AND skip to content

    My site was fine. I went back to look at it today and all images were gone AND it has this link that says “Skip to content” at the top that I can’t hide

    I tried clearing the cache. Didn’t seen to do anything

    I went into the site and messed with tons of stuff

    I deleted and attempted to reload images and they don’t show up in the wordpress site’s screen (looks like a broken, not loaded image).

    If you say okay to go to the screen where you crop the image , it shows no image and you can’t go further

    The site is a mess right now, (and the site is fugly)

    Not sure what to do. I’m about to scrap the site and start over.

  • Hi @floodstage,

    Looking at your page using web developer tools it appears that many of your CSS and javascript files are returning a 403 error.

    This is a permissions error. The files that can’t be accessed all appear to relate to the Overlay theme you are using.

    I would suggest reinstalling the Overlay theme and see if it resolves the issue. If you uploaded the Overlay theme via FTP then you may need to manually adjust permissions on the theme files or ask your hosting provider to assist.

    I was actually using a different theme.
    And it was up and working.
    When it quit working, (it was up. I went back 3 days later and it wasn’t right anymore) I tried using overlay because I’m using it on one of my other sites

    (I have multiple sites on multiple databases. Not using multi-site)

    I just changed themes.
    “skip to content” did go away, but something is still majorly wrong.

    It won’t upload images and the site looks like a MySpace site instead of looking anything like the theme.

    I completely deleted everything and started over.

    It’s working now.

    I assume it was something in C-Panel that was messed up

    (I have another page that was and still is up and working fine, and it uses trhe Overlay theme)

    It wasn’t “clear the cache in wordpress”. I had tried that.

    I think one of the files that are hosted on my web site got changed or corrupted.

    I completely deleted and re-installed.

    I thought I had marked it resolved. Doing that now. Sorry!
