I’m running WP on only one part of my website, https://www.kenacubed.com. When someone clicks on “Comment Forum,” the link takes them to the WP-run blog-style forum. But note that the comments are not visible. And it’s difficult to figure out how to make a comment. How do I make the posted comments and the form to make a comment visible at all times, rather than making people click on link “comments”?

  • Looking at how you have this set up it might be easier to link to https://www.kenacubed.com/forum/?p=1#comments instead of https://www.kenacubed.com/forum/. This way the post with the comments is the first place they land on.

The other way would be change to a comment-dedicated theme, maybe something like P2 theme available here. That would make WordPress more suitable for a comment forum.

Thx. If I change the theme, do I have to back up all my current user comments? If so, how do I do that? Does WP have a how-to that explains that? I do want to change the theme, but I don’t want to lose the content within the old theme, i.e. the posts, user comments, etc. I have skimmed through Using_Themes WP webpage. It seems that I CAN change the theme w/o changing the content. Is that true? I’ll be testing it.
