Can’t Log In With Suppled Admin Password

I installed WP with no errors to my server. However when i attempt to login with the supplied credentials

User: admin
Pass: xxxxxx (Given during installation)

the page simply refreshes. If I enter in a different password than the one supplied it will give me a incorrect password error so I know that is not the problem. I have reset the password manually in phpMyAdmin to no avail. The only thing I did that deviated from the standard install procedure is changed the install directory name to archives (the install correctly identified this directory) and I also set the group and owner (chgrp and chown)

Does anybody know why it is doing this I would like to access my blog!
