• I tried every social share plug-ins I could find, but none worked satisfactorily. This has very clean and straightforward user interface yet almost complete features and flexibility. It is also one of the very few that include the two most popular Chinese social networks, WeChat and Sina Blogs (but see below).

But there are several issues, a major one and several minor ones:

    (1) WeChat does not link and copy the link address automatically, and requires the user to first copy the link address manually and paste that into WeChat. This may seemingly be minor, but in reality it is a major flaw, essentially frustrating over 90% of the sharing opportunities. First of all, it’s not that making copy and paste is difficult, but the unfamiliarity and confusion that frustrates people. Especially, the instruction to copy is in English, while vast majority of the WeChat users don’t read English. So the whole thing stops right there. Only a small percentage of people would actually pause and think about it, figure it out and eventually do it.

    (2) To a keen eye, the default placement has a slight misalignment (a small shift to the right). This could be a problem for a perfectionist. And unfortunately, there is no choice of the placement of the icons; and

    (3) No adjustment of space between icons (no big deal because the default looks perfect anyway).
