• I switched over to Zero BS CRM and integrated a contact form with my contact page.

I see a few leads have filled out the form, but I haven’t received an email notification from the system.

Where do I change/update a setting to get an email from the system that a lead has filled out a form.

Also, under Contacts > Leads, I only see their email address and no specific message.

I know…simple stuff, but I can’t find any documentation on this.

    Hi @tonyzeoli

No worries – always happy to help.

There is no system for getting an email when a contact fills out a form, currently. I could add this as a feature request, but most people simply use something like Contact Form 7, which is a much fuller contact form builder, and integrates with ZBS via our extension: https://zerobscrm.com/product/contact-form-7/

Also, under Contacts > Leads, I only see their email address and no specific message.

If you’re using our built-in forms, this message is visible on the contact view/edit pages under the log item that’ll have been added when they submitted the form. Can you see if you can see that for me on yours?

    All the best

I prefer not to use Contact Form 7 and while I’m a Gravity Forms subscriber, I’m not yet at the point with Zero BS to justify spending $127 a year to get an add-on that simply notifies me by email that a lead came in. I would think that feature would be native to the free version, but I can understand why – as a plugin owner myself – you’re trying to push people into the paid version to get the extensions for other contact form generators. But I’d push for an email coming from the free version, because for people like me, that’s sort of an expected function of any contact form that is included in a system – you get an email notification that someone has reached out to you through the form.

Here’s a link to my view of the contact: https://nimb.ws/q6bz1Y

I think I’m just getting spammed before setting up my reCaptcha keys, so maybe this user didn’t leave a message, but given the form has a message field, it should map to something that’s clearly visible to the end-user in the Contact section. This is certainly a usability issue. The expectation is that if there’s a form field for a Message, then I should clearly see that field, but I don’t.

One more thing – I see that if I try and email someone from the Contact area, it shows that I’m sending from [email protected]. Why would it do that and how do I change the from address? Or, can you change the address?

    Hi @tonyzeoli

I hear you, I’ve taken note of this in our issue tracking software.

Re: Not showing on the contact record – you can probably read the form details if you click that little downward pointing arrow next to the contact log for the “Form Filled” event, does that not work?

On the edit page it should also show up fully in the logs section.

    Re: email sending

(1: I’d recommend you edit that post and remove your email, spambots might harvest that cleartyped email from this page and spam you)

2: You can change which email things come from via Mail Delivery methods in settings: https://zerobscrm.com/feature/mail-delivery/ (in free core)

    All the best
