I just updated ShortPixel Adaptive Images plugin from 1.8.0 to 1.8.1 and the new version removed all the images from my site. There was a message that ShortPixel Adaptive Images had a conflict with another plugin that had lazy-loading capacity. The only other plugin with that is Autoptimize.

I deactivated all my plugins but ShortPixel Adaptive Images and the images were still missing. I reactivated all my plugins but deactivated ShortPixel Adaptive Images and the images reappeared.

I have rolled ShortPixel Adaptive Images back to 1.8.0 and the images are back and everything is working fine.

So there appears to be a hitch with version 1.8.1.

    Hope this helps …

    Hi @nealumphred,

It looks like this is a cache issue. I suggest making sure you flush your website’s cache and then try again. Please do it in this order:
    1) Cache plugins (WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, SG Optimizer…)
    2) Server cache (SiteGround, Bluehost…)
    3) CDN cache (Cloudflare, StackPath…). Please do it from your CDN’s dashboard, not through your cache plugin or hosting dashboard.
    4) Browser cache (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari…)

I also recommend checking it from another computer or connection, because some ISP’s offer proxies or even transparent proxies which will cache the Javascript.

Let me know how it goes, please.

    Thanks for the response!

Clearing caches is not working. When I upgrade to 1.8.1, I receive this message:

SHORTPIXEL ADAPTIVE IMAGES CONFLICTS WITH OTHER LAZY-LOADING SETTINGS

There appears to be a conflict with the Autoptimize plugin: When I deactivate that plugin, the images appear on my site. On Autoptimize, I have ticked all three options:

    ? Optimize Images
? Load WebP in supported browsers?
    ? Lazy-load images?

I have unticked the options in various configurations but the images do not appear.

When I cleared the browsing data in Chrome, for some reason it did not completely clear the cached images. So I cleared the cached images a second time and now the images on my sites are back!

So, success: I have all the images on all six sites with ShortPixel Adaptive Images upgraded to 1.8.1.

But on three sites, I still have the SHORTPIXEL ADAPTIVE IMAGES CONFLICTS WITH OTHER LAZY-LOADING SETTINGS notification.

    What should I do?

Yes, my problem was taken care of and Gerard was most helpful. The BIG issue was deactivating the image optimization options on Autoptimize and clearing the cache on Chrome.

If this doesn’t work for you, contact Gerard.

    Good luck!

Sorry guys, I forgot to update this post!

Like Neal said, this problem is solved by clearing your cache. Please do it in this order:
    – Cache plugins (WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, SG Optimizer…)
    – Server cache (SiteGround, Bluehost…)
    – CDN cache (Cloudflare, StackPath…). Please do it from your CDN’s dashboard, not through your cache plugin or hosting dashboard.
    – Browser cache (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari…)

    That should do the trick.

    Cheers,
