When a customer inputs a new address in the cart (change address) to update the shipping prices, and then proceeds to checkout, that new address does not carry through to the shipping section. It always defaults to a stored address in the address book forcing the customer to enter the new address twice.

Without the plugin, this functionality works as expected. Is there any way to adjust this so that it doesn’t automatically default to a saved address?

I want customers to have the option of using a new address carried through from the cart OR choosing a saved address from the address book.

Interesting.. Are you using a certain plugin to allow a new address to be entered on the cart or are you just referring to the part where they enter the country/state/zip for a partial address?

That is a good suggestion either way for it to store that that address was changed from the customer’s default address and display the Add New Address.

Although maybe better would be to try and add the address selector to the cart as well so you can select from one of your addresses instead of having to enter a new one. I can see the case of you wanting to not use your Primary address and changing it on the cart but then it defaulting to Add new Address on checkout and having to select an existing address would also be not ideal UX.

I’m referring to the country/state/zip. In most cases this might just be mildly annoying to have to enter the country/state/zip in the cart and then the entire new address in the checkout shipping field.

Our workflow also includes contact for a shipping quote in the cart for anything that is over 600 pounds. So entering the correct address in the cart and having it match in the checkout is vital for the quote to validate and the AJAX to match in both places.

So having a selector in the cart probably wouldn’t work for us as it still has to integrate with contact for shipping quote which is pulling from the country/state/zip.

The complexity of both plugins working well and with ideal UX is perplexing.

    Any thoughts?
