Automatic Redirection after url change with WordPress

    Dear all,
    i noticed that with the last wordpress version when i try to change the url of my article the redirection is auto on this url. I tried to insert it into htaccess but i found the double 301 redirection. Is it ok. Is it a new custom feature? Thanks.

    WordPress: 5.3.2 (single)
    PHP: 7.3.15

    WordPress does an internal redirection, not one in .htaccess. There is a post meta field on the post, containing the old slug.
    It is not a new feature.
