Plugin causes problem on the WooCommerce Extensions Subscriptions page

  • Hi! I work for Automattic. While troubleshooting an issue for our Sensei plugin, I noticed that if I activate WooCommerce EU VAT Assistant, it causes the “Active / Inactive” status of my subscriptions on WooCommerce -> Extensions -> WooCommerce Subscriptions to disappear and be replaced with “Download” buttons, for all Sensei-related plugins. You can try this yourself with one of our free Sensei add-ons, https://woocommerce.com/products/sensei-certificates/ . Something in your plugin must be interfering with the Subscription check for Sensei-related plugins. Can you look into this, please?

    Hi Richard,
    I’m surprised that the presence of The EU VAT Assistant could cause a glitch in the UI. Its logic doesn’t alter any user interface related to other plugins, such as subscriptions or to Sensei. The only interaction with the subscription process is at the payment or renewal, for the collection of VAT data. Apart from that, the plugin’s logic is not aware, nor connected with Sensei, or its addons.

    This said, we never tested Sensei, nor any of its addons, as they are not within the scope of the solution, nor we received any request to support them, so it might be possible that some specific “quirky” condition is not covered.

    If you have a VM on which the issue can be reproduced, that would make the testing easier than having to prepare a new environment, install and configure Sensei (which we are not familiar with, as we never used it) and try to reproduce the issue. If you can provide access to such VM, you can contact through our support portal and we can take it from there.
