No sidebar on twenty seventeen front page

    Hi there,

    I ran into a problem with the front page. I use twenty seventeen with a static front page.

    After installing the ?Page Sidebar for Twenty Seventeen? addon, all of my pages (including the front page) have the standard sidebar. Once I activate ?Content Aware Sidebars?, however, I am not able to configure a sidebar for my static front page. I am not able to define a custom sidebar in when I edit the page. Also, when I configure the sidebar’s condition to appear on the front page (special page) nothing happens.

    I’m just not able to get the sidebar to display on the static front page.

    Any thoughts?

    EDIT: Just read in the readme.txt that comes with ?Page Sidebar for Twenty Seventeen? that the sidebar will not be displayed on the front page if the section feature for the front page is used. Just to make this clear, I’m not using the section feature and the sidebar is displayed just fine without the ?Content Aware Sidebar? plugin. With ?Content Aware Sidebar? activated, though, I can’t get it to work.

    Can you show me a screenshot of the display conditions for your sidebar? You can use imgur.com
    And just to be sure: You have both Page Sidebar for TwentySeventeen AND Content Aware Sidebars installed, correct?

    Hi Joachim,

    thanks for your help! Yes both plugins are installed. The sidebar shows on all pages after installing Sidebar for TwentySeventeen.

    But after installing Content Aware Sidebars I cant get the sidebar to work with the front page. Just to clarify, the front page is a static page called “News”. Because it is the front page, I cannot set a condition for this specific page. It does not appear in the page list. Therefore I set the condition to appear on the special page called “Front page”.

    EDIT: For the sake of elimination configuration issues with respect to conditions I have already tried to create a new widget for the front page only which I only set there via special page condition. This also does not work for me.
