• Does anyone know if there is a plugin that locks all posts after x long time.

f.e. posts posted 2 months ago go from being viewable by all to only being viewable for logged in users ?

  • Look for plugins that turn off comments for old posts. I know they exist, but don’t know the names of any off the top of my head.

Scotts Autoclose comments does that, but it doesn’t tackle the viewable req.

    Do you mean this?

When I install that plugin, it breaks comments. (Trying to comment generates an error.)

Is there a working plugin with current versions of WordPress?

    Oh.

Are you supposed to activate the plugin, test it a little, and then deactivate it? That seems to have closed comments older than 90 days. That’s what I configured it for. Comments now work right.

Just to be clear to future readers:

kitty is looking for a way to lock POSTS, not COMMENTS.

I can tell you how to hack your template to set a post to ‘private’ when someone visits a page, but that 1. will only reset the post for the next visitor, and 2. will make it look like the post no longer exists. Not sure that’s what you want.

    Thanks Kafkaesqui ??

I have users on my blog that can see locked posts (using ViewLevel v.1.1.2 ) by logging themselves in. I would like to be able to have the option to auto lock posts after x long time (like I explained before) so they would automaticly be set to user level = 1 instead of user level 0 after x long time.

I know I suck at explaining stuff ??
