PSN score resets on refresh

    Hello,

    I am a new user of WordPress and I have been working on trying 3 improve Google Page speed (GSP) scores using Page Speed Ninja (PSN). I had gone with the defaults and that gave me good results with GSP score. For optimising further, I enabled ultra mode and the plug in seems to be taking forever to process the results.
    It has been over 10 hours and the processing is still going on.

    When it started the current score for mobile was around 27 which after 8 hours became 55. After another 10 hours it was still 55,so I refreshed the plugin page. I was surprised to find out the current score went back to around 27.

    Does it mean that I must not refresh the page when PSN has not completed processing?

    Try to refresh PSN settings page (to be sure, wait few minutes from the previous check).

    There may be two reasons to get such a result:

    1. Google’s PageSpeed score may vary time-to-time (e.g. depending on network load), but usually it is +/-5 points only.

    2. PSN caches previous scores in browser’s local storage (to don’t flood Google’s server). There is no known issue in this cache implementation, but theoretically it may be that there is a bug that reset result to previous value.

    And finally, it may be that PSN functionality has been disabled due to a conflict with other plugin or another reason.

    The site was up and running with optimal setting, to increase Google Page Speed score, I changed it to ultra. During the time PSN was processing with ultra setting, the site went down. I was not able to even access it directlyG. So I GPS could not have interfered with PSN.

    Since PSN was running fine with optimal setting, I don’t think it was disabled.

    Once I change from optimal to ultra and save setting, does refreshing the webpage cause PSN to abort the current processing and restart from begining?
