So it seems that when i put an item in my cart, the cart picks up my state, or zip code and gives me a shipping price. When i move to checkout, and enter a full address, the rate changes, increasing, about 50%. Is there a way to prevent this sudden increase?

To further explain, If i enter my zipcode and state into my website, it gives me a price of $8.81. When i enter my address (within same zipcode and state) during checkout, the price jumps to 13.20.

The price of 13.20 matches the quote i receive from UPS website. The issue is that it doesnt properly calculate with only zipcode and state. So customers will see a lower price in the shopping cart then they do during checkout.

    Hello @archfabricationandmachine,

To receive more accurate rates, please check our PRO version of this plugin: https://flexibleshipping.com/products/flexible-shipping-ups-pro/

If you have any questions about that, please write to us directly because we can’t discuss the PRO version on this forum https://flexibleshipping.com/support/.

So the non pro version isn’t capable of displaying accurate rates in both checkout and cart?

    Hello @archfabricationandmachine,

Apologies, probably I misunderstood your problem.

I tried to recreate your issue, but I am not able. I checked rates in the cart and checkout, there are the same every time: https://wpdesk.me/mp/joibx.png

Could you please send me the screenshots of your problem?

    Best regards,
    Marta

Heres an image of all three screens. When i put an item into my shopping cart, it doesnt show any pricing, because it doesnt have address information, which is fine.

Then, while in cart, i can enter my town and zip code and receive rates. These rates are cheaper then the rate should be.

Then while in checkout, the full address gets entered, and the rates go up to the full price of the rate, which is consistent with what i receive from UPS website.

Im afraid someone will purchase something from me, but see the shipping rates increase and get scared off. I dont believe this is normal behavior.

    Hello @archfabricationandmachine,

    Thank you for the screenshot.

I discussed with dev team about your problem and turns out that this situation happens on the UPS API side. When you put the entire address the UPS API treats this as residential address and that’s why the live rates are different.

The solution is to hide shipping costs until an address is entered in the WooCommerce settings: wp-admin/admin.php?page=wc-settings&tab=shipping&section=options

    Please see: https://wpdesk.me/mp/4i37j.png

    I hope this helps you.

    Best regards,

Yes I have that box checked, a workaround I figured out is to uncheck the box to calculate shipping in shopping cart.

This way it only calculates during checkout when a FULL address is entered, and won’t calculate with only Zipcode and State.

    Thanks.
