There is a site that is no longer online as a WordPress site, yet it still sends me once a day the: Your Site is Experiencing a Technical Issue.

How can I stop this if the site is no longer online & I no longer manage it? I don’t have access to the hosting account either.

Only option may be for me to reach out to their support to see if they can help, but wanted to see if there was another way first.

Nope, that’s what you have to do. I have some sites where I’m still listed as the contact under settings->general. You need to contact the site’s new owners/maintainers/devs and ask them to change that. If they don’t, just delete the messages or set a filter on your email to spam and/or trash the messages.

What you say the site is no longer online, then the only solution may be the latter.

@sterndata thank you for the info. I will certainly try to get this disabled by these means. Hopefully WordPress provides another option in the future. I shouldn’t have to jump thru hoops for someone not deactivating their hosting account properly.

The site that’s sending me mail is on an *inactive* hosting account, too. I have no idea how/why that site is still alive. It’s not worth my time, however, to contact the (now former) owners of the site or GoDaddy.
