This is a fresh install of ShareThis Share Buttons. After choosing and configuring the buttons to display, the Create an account dialogue is displayed. After reading the terms of use, checking the box, entering an email address and password and clicking on Register & Configure, the ShareThis logo flashes briefly and the dialogue remains.

Checking the browser console shows a “TypeError: xhr.responseJSON is undefined” javascript error in set-credentials.js at line 328. Links to the browser’s developer mode console and debug window are below.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Can you please verify if you’re not using an email that is already created and/or your password is more than 6 characters? If so, please try the “login”feature instead.

Long story short, the problem was Firefox Developer Edition Version 72.02. I’m running Ubuntu, not sure if it would do the same on Windows or not. By the time I switched to Chrome, which fixed everything, I had already created a new account with ShareThis and pulled out most of what little hair I have left trying to figure out why I couldn’t get it to verify that the js file was in the header.

All is working now. Thank you for your quick response and suggestions.
