    Hello,

If you visit my page, you will see a “zooming” picture of the sea as the featured image. When I activate A3 Lazy Load, this image disappears completely – it just doesn’t load.

I have tried changing the settings within the plugin to prevent this from happening, but nothing seems to resolve the issue.

It is worth noting that none of the other pages suffer this issue, so maybe it’s something to do with the fact that this particular image is a moving one, whereas my other featured images are static.

    Please advise a fix.

    Many thanks,
    Peter.

Thanks for the link – just looked at it and at first the image did not load – but then I refreshed the page and it did load – It seems that you are using Rev Slider with that image, using the Ken Burns effect.

I think you might have just excluded the page from Lazy Load as I was looking at it?

If so, turn it back on and I’ll look at it again.

    Hi Steve,

    Thanks for the response.

To clarify, I intentionally have lazy load turned off right now so you can see the image. Surprised that you said it didn’t load the first time. I have now enabled lazy load. We are using a plugin called Slider Revolution.

    Many thanks,
    Peter.

    Hi Peter

Thanks – ok this is really strange – a3 Lazy Load is never applied to Revolution Slider images but on your site it is – we don’t apply it because Rev Slider have its own lazy load.

But on your site it appear that the Rev Slider is getting the a3 Lazy Load blank placemarker image and showing that instead of the real image.

Here is an example of the slider on one of our client sites that is using Rev Slider / with Ken Burns zoom effect and a3 Lazy Load – Maleny Views Motel

I have a couple of suggestions.

    1. You are using version 6.1.5 of Revolution Slider – we only have version 6.1.7 = to test with – so please upgrade to the latest version and see if that resolves the issue.

If it does not work then please:

Go to the a3 Lazy Load menu and in the Images option box add this class to the Skip Image Classes

    rev-slidebg

Then save changes – it looks like this

Please let me know how you go with those 2 suggestions.

    Hi Steve,

    Thanks again for the suggestions.

There’s something unusual going on here because I don’t fully have the option to update Slider Revolution. As you can see here, the yellow banner to update appears – but with no text inside. I tried to deactivate and re-activate with no change. I also thought that maybe I could delete the plugin and re-add it, but I can not seem to find it on the “Add Plugins” page at all. I am now worried that if I delete it, I may not be able to locate the plugin to bring it back.

I think I need to discuss this with Slider Revolution’s developer. I will get back to you when that’s resolved.

    Hi Peter,

Yes also on the frontend as I mentioned there is something very strange in that a3 Lazy Load is never applied to the Revolution slider images (as they have their own lazy load built in).

My guess is that you have a plugin and even the theme that is causing the issues that you are seeing on the frontend and the backend.

Before you raise a ticket with the Rev Slider people you should do some debugging yourself.

Go to the Plugins menu page and use the bulk updater to deactivate all the plugins – then reactivate Rev Slider and see if the issues are resolved on both frontend and backend.

(take a backup before doing this just in case you have a fatal error from the theme that would prevent you from reactivating the plugins)

If you can then see the upgrade text in the box for Rev Slider when you activate it again then you know that it is one of the plugins that is causing the issues. Then reactivate each plugin 1 by 1 and check again to find which one is causing the issue.

If the upgrade text does not show when you reactivate Rev Slider you know that there is a very high probability that the bug is coming from the theme you are using.

I am suggesting that you do that before you contact Rev Slider support because there is a high chance that is what they will ask you to do first.

Would be very interested to know what ends up being the cause of the issues you are facing.

    Hi Steve,

Apologies for my delayed response, a major bug came up that I needed to resolve.

I followed the steps you mentioned, however was still unable to see the Slider Revolution upgrade text box.

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, they do not offer support unless purchasing a premium account – which I am unwilling to do. That means I am now a little stuck. I may just have to make a choice between A3 Lazy Load and Slider Revolution.

    Many thanks,
    Peter.

Ok so have you tried using the rev-slidebg class to exclude the rev slider images from Lazy Load as suggested here?

That will work with your version of Rev Slider

    @peter-27

Hi Peter – we have done some more testing and have been able to replicate the issue. It worked fine on any existing installed version of Rev Slider – but as soon as we edit an image or add a new one – then we can see it.

Rev slider has updated their JS and Lazy Load could not find it on first load on the frontend. The exclude Class rev-slidebg still works – just not being auto applied – we have fixed this bug and it will be in the soon to be release v 2.3.0

    Hi Steve,

That’s great news. I am looking forward to v2.3.0 being released then.

rev-slidebg did work as a temporary measure.

    Many thanks,
    Peter.

    Hi Peter,

Version 2.3.0 is out now – please be sure when you run the upgrade to remove the exclude Class rev-slidebg from the a3 Lazy Load Images menu.

That exclusion class is now applied globally by a3 Lazy Load as default – so you don’t want to be doubling up on that.

    Hi Steve,

Updated to version 2.3.0 and all seems to be working now.

I still have the issue where I am unable to see the yellow bar to update Slider Revolution for some reason, but I appreciate that this is not your issue to fix.

    Thanks for your fast support!

    Cheers,
    Peter.
