Hustle has the “Number of times visitor has seen” rule for visibility, but this seems to block the popup for all time once that number has been reached.

It is quite common to use a rule like “Show this to the visitor once every three months”. We use this kind of “time since last shown” rule on other popup systems.

Am I missing something, is there a way to configure this in Hustle now?

If not, could Hustle add something like that? Maybe a “Days since last shown” visibility rule where you can specify the number of days to hide the popup before it next appears? This could easily be implemented by simply giving the associated cookie an expiration date.

    Hi @eceleste

I hoppe you’re doing well today!

IN “behavior” tab of popup configuration there’s a “closing behavior” section. There are two check-boxes there and a drop-down list.

With the drop-down list you can select whether to keep showing the popup to the visitor after it’s closed or to hide it. if you choose to not show it, you’ll also be able to select for how long it should stay out of sight.

For example, you can select “Do not show this message across the site” and set “reset this after” option to 3 months.

Then, using those two checkboxes above it, you can decide to apply this rule only if popup was closed by clicking on “x” icon or by clicking outside the popup or in both cases.

Such popup will only be displayed to the returning visitor after that set period of time.

The exception is if the popup is set to close itself automatically. In such case that rule will only be applied after visitor purposefully closes it, otherwise it will keep showing up until then.

    Best regards,
    Adam

Ah! There it is! Thank you @wpmudev-support8.

I would recommend some clearer help text to make this more self-evident. This feature is impossible to find unless you change the default settings. It is important enough that there should be hints elsewhere about it.

In the visibility settings under “Pop-up Visibility Rules” sidebar I would recommend adding a paragraph:

“Use the Behavior settings if you want to hide your pop-up from visitor for a set amount of time.”

In the behavior settings under the “Closing Behavior” sidebar I would recommend adding:

“Set the amount of time before your pop-up will reappear to visitors after they have closed it.”

Something like this would have helped me find these features.

Thanks for pointing them out. Hustle is a wonderful plugin!
