• I am adding some text to a new page and have discovered that the default editor removes P and BR tags and only displays the text. I can hit return or add them manually but as soon as the page is saved, the tags go away. Very frustrating to say the least.

I added a table in HTML mode and all of those tags stay.

I’m assuming this is a known issue so any suggestions on an editor that works would be welcome.

There is no issue as far as I am aware. Every one of the “reports” that I’ve seen turned out to be either an issue with the theme’s CSS or the use of the_excerpt() instead of the_content() within the theme.

A link to your site might help to pinpoint the issue.

I found it a few minutes ago. There is most definitely a known issue as it turns out.

There is an extension that adds functionality to the basic editor called TinyMCE Advanced. In the control panel thing it has a check box for fixing the stripping of P and BR tags. Funny thing, it fixes that but doesn’t display all the extra goodies that the extension is really for. Not that I care, my immediate problem is solved. ??

    Adding ‘resolved’ to the thread.

Use HTML Tag Manager of Universal Post Manager plugin
