    Hi!

I updated to v1.7.17 today and now Advanced Galleries (masonry) are not visible in the frontend anymore. If I change the gallery to grid layout the gallery becomes visible, but really tiny. This happens only in the frontend view! In the backend editor everything looks fine.

Switching back to v.1.7.16 > everything is fine again

    Here’s a screenshot:

  • Hey,
That wasn’t changed in the last update. Are you sure you cleared your site cache after updating? I can’t recreate any issue with the masonry gallery.

    The demo is using 1.7.17 : https://www.kadenceblocks.com/custom-blocks/advanced-gallery/

    Hi Ben,

yes I always do a hard refresh in Chrome after any changes in the backend.
This is really strange because it definitely seems to be connected to v1.7.17.
When I downgrade to v1.7.16 the frontend display is correct again.

In another post I also mentioned an issue happening on another site where a headline is positioned next to a carousel instead of being above the carousel after the 1.7.17 update. Same scenario here – if I downgrade to v1.7.16 the headline is in the correct position again.

Again, this only happens in the frontend. Backend editor is always correct.

Maybe it has something to do with the Theme-Plugin constellation. It is the same on both installs I mentioned. I didn’t have the time to test other sites yet.

I found a solution for this problem:

The row layouts that had the above mentioned layout problems were set to ‘Vertical Align Middle’. I had to set them back to ‘Vertical Align Top’ to get them back to display correctly after the update to v1.7.17.

    Thanks Ben for your help!

I’m having a similar issue. I’m not honestly sure if it was v1.7.17 or v1.7.16 because I just found it, but the advanced gallery (carousel) actually hides all of the page content on my page where it’s displayed. I deleted the whole gallery because of the error.

I’ve since determined that it’s a conflict with another application that I’m using, but I was running both together before these updates and now they no longer play nice. The other application is a 3rd-party chat (not a wordpress plugin) that I pay for, so I’m going to ask them to fix the problem from their side, but I wanted to make you aware of it as well.

@kimberlynorris can you send me a screen shot of what you mean? Or a test page that shows this?

    Ben

It took me a while to track down the problem, but I think I found it. Not a plugin conflict like I thought.

This page has the error: https://ptcollege2.wpengine.com/test/

This page is identical: https://ptcollege2.wpengine.com/test2/ but this gallery has 2 fewer images. I think galleries with more than 17 images break.

I thought at first maybe I had a corrupt image or something, but I tried a variety of images on different pages and environments. I imagine most galleries aren’t this big (could be total file size or total number of images). My original gallery that broke had about 20 in it. So I think that’s the issue.

Hmm, It wouldn’t be an issue from our end. Here is an example with 30+ images: https://www.kadenceblocks.com/large-gallery-example/

On the page that has the error there is nothing being output in your content area.

This is strange, even if the block broke something should be outputting. I suggest you contact your hosting provider and check your php error logs.

    Ben
