• I’m building a new wp website and wordfence is blocking my plugins and codes. This happens even when I deactivate and delete the plugin. Within the tool, I see the verbiage below. How can I configure wordfence correctly?

You are currently running the Wordfence Web Application Firewall from another WordPress installation. Please click here to configure the Firewall to run correctly on this site.

  • Hi @ygruszynski,

It’s possible that Wordfence blocked your plugins/codes, and then when you removed Wordfence – the blocked page still showed because it was being cached by your server.

What happens if you click to configure the firewall? Wordfence should prompt you to backup your .htaccess file, and then it will automatically add itself into .htaccess.

Also once you do have Wordfence up and running, can you go into Wordfence -> Tools -> Live Traffic, and see where your plugins are being blocked?

Hi Dave! Thank you for your response. Whenever I would click on the “click here” hyperlink, I would be sent to the WF Firewall Options page. I tried again and finally saw the pop-up. I don’t know what changed, but I was able to get my WF configured this time. I checked “live traffic” and I only had 1 entry from yesterday from my location and IP. There was no indication of any plugins being blocked.
