Episode Descriptions Not Displayed

    Hi there!

    Thank you for this amazing plugin. I did some source diving and saw that you are in fact bringing over the episode descriptions from the RSS feed. Is there an easy way to get that displayed via the short code? I did not see any options to have episode descriptions displayed. Thank you!

    Thanks for trying Podcast Player.

    I could not access the link provided above. It require authentication password.

    A single podcast may contains hundreds of episodes, therefore, practically it is not possible to get episode description for individual episodes from shortcodes. Can you better explain your exact requirements?

    If you want to create single podcast episodes, you can try podcast player pro.

    I have removed the basic auth from the stqging site, sorry about that.

    So, my requirement is to display episode descriptions per episode in the feed. What will end up happening for my site is I will have one landing page for my episode feed and then create one off pages for each individual episode. My rationale behind this is as I build my podcasts, I will have a portion of it to be searchable via WordPress search.

    All I am looking for is to be able to get episode summary from the rss feed displayed on the player.

    Hi there,

    I think your specific requirement can be met with Podcast Player Pro. Check demo link (https://vedathemes.com/pp-demo/).

    In the demo, all section where title contains (from posts) are prepared from individual posts. If you click on the title of any episode, you will be taken to the individual episode. However, if you click on the play button, episode will play immediately.

    Here, you do not need RSS feed URL. Podcast player can fetch and display episodes from post or Post types.
    1. Create individual episodes as post or any post type. Add your episode description and audio mp3 in “Single Episode Podcast Player”.
    2. Give each episode a unique category.
    3. Podcast player pro can fetch and episodes from posts by category or tags.

    Hi there,

    Although, I would definitely like to provide shortcode (or any other way) to display individual episode description. However, it is practically not possible at the moment as it will make things very complicated.

    As suggested above, you can optionally try Podcast Player Pro to create and Manage individual episodes on your website.

    I am closing this ticket for now. However, feel free to raise a new ticket if you need more help on this OR if any other help is required.
