Nested shortcode not working

  • Hi,

    Seeing all the issues with the migration, I’ve waited for something more stable. I’ve tried to upgrade this morning from 4.6 to 5.1 version.
    Unfortenately my nested shortcodes (Shortcoder shortcode within Shortcoder shortcode) no longer work. I then roll-back to the previous 4.6 version where nested shortcodes were working perfectly fine.

    Thanks for using Shortcoder.
    There is no active issues or issue with nested shortcodes also.

    By “not working” I would need some more info.

    Any info on the screenshot of the shortcode content, what shortcode is nested, what is the final output etc would be helpful.

    Sure. “Not working” means it displays just nothing.

    Original shortcode, let’s call it [sc name=sc1]:

    [...]
<li>P?le-emploi - [sc name="Pole-Emploi"]</li>
[...]

    And [sc name=”Pole-Emploi”] is equal to:

    [...] Envoyez-nous depuis <a href="/contact" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">notre page de contact</a>:
[...]

    When calling the original shortcode [sc name=sc1], it displays on the front-end:

    [...]
<li>P?le-emploi - </li>
[...]

    And that’s it. With the 4.6 vesion, it works fine. Hope it’s clearer.

    I’m not sure why it is not working on your side.

    May be please do double check everything/try creating one manually. Check if no issues with the square brackets, name of the shortcodes etc.

    Hi Aakash,

    Not sure indeed why it’s not working on my end.
    I won’t have the time to duplicate the site and run some test and I can’t afford to upgrade as I have LOTS of nested shortcodes on my production site.

    For now, I’ll stay with the version 4.6 that works perfectly fine. If someone else one day has the same issue, please think about posting a reply on this thread so that I can get notified. Thanks!

    Would it be possible for you to export the shortcodes in v4.6 and send it to me ( aakash [dot] 19493 @gmail.com ) ?
    I’ll run some tests in my setup.
