BadgeOS + Progress Map massively slowing down site
-
We’re using BadgeOS and the Progress Map add-on on a course site with memberships protected by Wishlist Member. There are close to 15,000 members on the site, with 5,000 of them being members of the part of the site where BadgeOS and the progress map are used, and chances are maybe half of that being members actively marking their progress with it. The site is using LiteSpeed Cache with the LiteSpeed webserver loading on the VPS. BadgeOS is on v3.3 and the progress map is on 1.0.3 (we had rolled back from 1.0.4 because of issues with the progress map showing properly).
It’s been as of either this BadgeOS version of the last one that slowness has been occurring. We’ve looked at everything else and are convinced it’s these recent updates. I’m not sure if BadgeOS changed how the badges work such that they cause much more load on the site, but that’s what it seems like. The difference is having BadgeOS on leads to the site taking 5-7 seconds to start loading any page on the site, even admin pages. With it off, the pages start loading in less than half a second.
I see other topics here about the slowness and BadgeOS support saying they’ll address it as of over a month ago and it’s still an issue. We’ll be searching for other solutions soon if this is not resolved. Please help!
