  • Hi,

    Check with these options:

    – Assign 766 recursive permissions to wp-contents directory
-> Make sure that you have set the proper file upload path from wordpress admin area -> settings section
-> disable all the plugins and enable it one by one to find out the culprit

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

Make sure you try Shane G’s steps in the order he listed to avoid lots of time dealing with those plugins if it isn’t needed.

When you post steps like this it might be helpful to make sure you note to do them in the order you list. Start with the most likely (you did) and easiest fixes. Just my advice. ??

I’d also suggest that you don’t assume that users will know what the phrase “recursive permissions” means. Or that they even how to change file permissions.

Thanks guys for your input, but none of these options have worked so far.

    1) Do you have /tmp directory? Check that and check its permissions as
    well

    2) Is your upload path correct? Check here:

go to admin panel, then go to settings –> Miscellaneous..

Here is the message received when trying to upload pics or any media……(Unable to create directory /wp-content/uploads/2009/10. Is its parent directory writable by the server?)

Nothing has worked so far….thanks to everyone who has commented!

Problem resolved……wp dashboard-miscellaneous file….removing the / in front of wp-content/uploads, and unchecking organize files by month/year.
