• Pardot Plugin Help – On the last Pardot Plugin update, the Pardot plugin prevents access to WordPress’ WIDGET menu in the Dashboard. The only workaround is to deactivate the Pardot plugin and then click WIDGETS under APPEARANCE to make necessary edits. Once done, you then activate the Pardot Plugin.

This is a temporary fix but a real update to fix this issue is necessary and imperative.

What do you mean by “prevents access”? Can you tell me more about what’s happening?

Yes! We host with WPEngine. We had an issue with trying to access WIDGETS under AAPPEARANCE in the dashboard. WPEngine narrow the problem to Pardot plugin. When we deactivated the Pardot plugin, we could access WIDGETS. We the Pardot plugin is activated, we can’t access WIDGETS.

@ndasilva Thanks! What is specifically happening when you try to go to Appearance > Widgets? Does it time out, show a blank page, etc.? And if so, are you able to share the error message from your logs?

    Hi Cliff,

It actually times out. If I turn off Pardot plugin, I can easily go into Widgets. This has been confirmed by WPEngine. See message below:

    502
The page request was canceled because it took too long to complete
    What can I do?

Site visitors: There was an issue serving your request, please try again in a few minutes.

Site Owners: A request for either a page, script, process, or query has taken too long to complete and has been cancelled due to a bad gateway. You should visit your error log for more information.

@ndasilva I understand that deactivating the plugin enables your access again, but I’m trying to find out why as this hasn’t been reported elsewhere.

Note it says, “You should visit your error log for more information.” Are you able to get the error message?
