MainWP Child No Longer Works With MySQL 5.7 After Website Migration
-
Hi Guys, I will also place this issue on the link you have given, i’ll try and keep it short, but please do let me know if there is anything else i can try as i am now stuck…
I have always used backupbuddy to save and migrate my wordpress websites (usually a template website with all my plugins installed), however since the last update of mainwp it will no longer work when using a mysql v5.7 database.
When i migrate a website to a mysql v5.5 database, everything works great as before, but if i try to migrate to a mysql v5.7 database, i get lots of errors on the migration (i do have a copy of this), the website still migrates, but when you go into the dashboard there is a mainwp warning issue and the main wp mysql version on the server information page is blank.
If i delete the mainwp plugin and migrate the website to a mysql v5.7 database, there are no error messages and the migration seems to work, but then when you try to install mainwp, you get the issue warning again where the main wp mysql version on the server information page is blank.
I have done this migration literally over 100 times and there is never any issue, i have stripped all plugins and deleted them and just migrated with or without mainwp and the findings are the same:
Migrate to v5.5 no issues
Migrate to v5.7 – errors on migration
Migrate to v5.7 with no mainwp plugin installed, works fine until you install mainwp child then the error and missing mysql version in server settings, although it does link to the main dashboard and syncs fine, it just shows the issue message and the version of mysl in the server info page is blank.I have also used a different migration plugin, Duplicator and although when i used this with mainwp installed on the migrated website, Duplicator didn’t throw up any errors, but when i logged into the site, the issue message was there again and the mysql version was blank.
Ihe same thing happens on PHP 7.2 and 7.3, but to confirm, this only happened since the last update of mainwp child. I’m not very technical so can’t understand why after migrating even with the mainwp child plugin not installed on the migrated version, it still gives the error when you try to install it back. I have however tried and uninstalling mainwp child plugins from other websites with mysql v5.7 databases, and when i re-install it, it works fine.
It makes no difference too if the website being migrated is running v5.5 or v5.7, neither will migrate to v5.7 without the errors.
For now i am migrating to v5.5 as everything is migrating and working fine, it’s just when migrating to v5.7 these errors happen.
ps, is there anywhere i can get an older version from? I could install that to see if everything is fine, also, i’m pretty stuck now so if i can help in anyway further, please let me know what you want me to do, thank you in advance… ??
ps, on the server settings, under mysql information/mysql mode, my normal websites say NOT SET here, but on the ones not working they say: REAL_AS_FLOAT,PIPES_AS_CONCAT,ANSI_QUOTES,IGNORE_SPACE,ONLY_FULL_GROUP_BY,ANSI,NO_ZERO_IN_DATE,ERROR_FOR_DIVISION_BY_ZERO,NO_AUTO_CREATE_USER,NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION
