sitemap created with new url

    Hi,

    I have switch from yoast seo to rankmath seo plugin and I found that rankmath has created a new sitemap url. I also found that the sitemap showing a permanent redirect to home URL.

    rankmath =>> sitemap_index.xml
    yoast =>> index_sitemap.xml

    If the plugin gonna create new site map URL than the plugin suppose to inform that to the WordPress user. Cause we need to update the sitemap in google search console and create a permanent redirect.

    I wasn’t expecting this.

    For yoast seo plugin we don’t have to sign up and login to activate the plugin.

  • I would argue that they’re not changing the sitemap location, but simply creating a sitemap. They just happen to use a different (and more commonly named) filename.

    The Rank Math plugin uses the same Sitemap name as the other SEO plugin you mentioned.

    Can you please confirm on your end again?

    Here are 2 URLs to compare:

    https://rankmath.com/sitemap_index.xml
https://yoast.com/sitemap_index.xml

    Also, connecting an account is entirely optional and does not hinder the working of the plugin.

    Connecting an account is only needed to utilize our API.
