• Hi!

The behavior of the theme’s search button is driving our visitors crazy:

In its initial state, it shows the input field and the “magnifying glass” symbol to the right of it. This is the symbol you – normally! – click after you entered a search term.

In this case, however, as soon as you enter a search term, the magnifying class switches to an X which has a totally different function: It deletes whatever you just wrote into the input field ??
(Does that make sense, anyway? This is not an improvement …)

Now, the vistors see that the symbol has changed, but they don’t assume that the function has changed also and that it now deletes their input. They happily click it and experience a dysfunctional search :-((

Do you have any solution for me?
I suppose this behavior is hidden in some javascript. Where do I find it? Can I disable that through the child theme?

    Cheers,
    Alex

    Hello,
Thanks for this very useful feedback. I agree, this can be misleading.
It will be improved in the next release in the coming days.

A possible solution would be to add a search button next to the input field, so that users can 1) enter the search term, 2) click the search button, without risking deleting their input by clicking the wrong icon. What do you think ?

    This would be perfect!
