• I just downloaded the chameleon theme and don’t want the default SEARCH to show on the right sidebar. It is not there when I look at the widgets so must be built into the theme. Any ideas?

  • look in the theme’s sidebar.php and comment out or remove code

    Hi,

You need to edit the sidebar.php file of the theme and remove the search box code from there.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

what is it with the parrot imitation, shane?

wow. that is a trip. my name is shane g… and i was trying to find out how to get rid of the search box too. clearly i am not the parrot, but wtf that is crazy, anyway, I tried everything in google to get the search box eliminated from my blog because i prefer a google ajax search and nothing changed anything. finally i noticed something. the default search box text was “Type your search here…”. pasted that into dreamweaver’s find and replace window and found the thing in the frigging FOOTER.PHP (i am using the “tweetmeblue.1.1” theme). So if anyone needs to know how to really get rid of the stupid box, don’t ask shane g.
