google photo’s not showing in different browers

  • Photonic is running for severel years on my site, without problems. We didn’t change anything to the plugin.
    Now photo’s aren’t showing anymore in different browsers. It works in Edge. Sometimes in firefox, and today not at all in Chrome. It makes the page very slow.
    I’ve got a broken symbol at the gallery/picture place. Titles of gallerys are still showing when you hover over it. And when you wait long enough, the picture will open when you click on the broken symbol.

    I am seeing your site fine in Chrome and Edge without any issues whatsoever.

    In Firefox, though, I am able to see photos only in a new browser window in the “Private Browsing” mode, not otherwise. It looks like in Firefox I am always getting a cached copy of your website (switching to a new window in the private mode makes sure that caching is not used).

    It would seem like there are some settings on your site for caching that may be causing this issue (typically set in the server configuration, not via WP).

    The server configuration, is this something that I have to adress to the hosting company?
    Could it be an option to uninstall the plugin and to start from scratch?

    Is there someone who can answer my previous question. Is this a task for the hosting company? Should I reset and reinstall the plugin on the page?

    When I visited your site today, I saw that you have a caching plugin activated. That will not work with Google Photos in any browser. Google Photos’ API provides URLs that expire after 30 minutes. If you cache your page contents with a caching plugin, those URLs will never get refreshed, and your images will always be broken.

    You will have to disable your caching plugin for any page that is using Photonic for Google Photos.

    I have some difficulties with loading my posts with photronics google photo albums too. It takes a long time before the post is initially loading. Could you please have a look at https://www.avontuurlijkfietsen.nl it concerns all post starting with S04xxx etc.
