non blocking javascript killing slider question

  • Hi gang, I searched around a bit and I don’t see anything specific for what I’m asking I don’t think.
    When I use pagespeed and follow the recommended settings it makes things nice and speedy but it kills the slider on our home page. I’ve narrowed it down (i think) to non blocking javascript setting. If I turn that one, page is quick but slider is down, off, slider is back, page is slow. It’s not TORTURE slow but slow enough you wonder if it’s going to be found.
    I have also written in to the help page for my template to see if they have any suggestions.
    I’m curious what can I do to the slider if anything? I’d rather not get rid of it but I’d entertain those options as well.
