I was notified yesterday via Wordfence that this plugin may be abandoned as it hasn’t been updated in two years and hasn’t been tested on the last 3 major WP releases. Is this plugin still supported?

Oh no, the plugin isn’t abandoned, it’s still tested against recent builds… it hasn’t been updated as is still just works ??

Perfect, thanks for the quick response!

I’ve seen some plugin developers just update the version number with a changelog of Tested for WordPress versions whatever, probably to avoid situations like this and to show that it is still current. you may want to consider that as well.

Also, you will note that the plugin page on here has this at the top:

“This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”

So, doing the update that I mentioned should remove that as well.

    Ah thanks @endymion00!

Yes please do this meaningless update as it’s now been closed by WP!

This plugin has been closed as of January 31, 2020 and is not available for download. This closure is temporary, pending a full review.

    Hey all,

The plugin was updated as it does work with the latest WordPress version.
It has been temporarily removed due to other essential work, but should be back up shortly.
    Thanks all for your patience.
    Todd

    Dear Todd,

Regardless if it just works there is a reason for the warnings as potentially your plugin can allow a site to be compromised when left to lapse as it has.
I had the same Wordfence warning and to add to the worry when I try to deactivate the plugin it breaks my site- throwing up an API access error…

However reassuring your words are on this I think I’ll be uninstalling anyway for security purposes; because negligent updating procedures cause data leaks.

Looks like they’ve pulled it again, pending a full review. Too weird and too suspicious.

    Hi all,

Yes, I received a notice from the plugin team that they’d like the plugin to have it’s 3rd party libraries updated and then put through a review. I’m working on this and will hopefully have it submitted within the next day or two following some full tests etc that I want to run.

Please note, this is the first time the plugin has been removed from the repo.

Thanks for your patience with this… hopefully we’ll be back to normal service soon, and I’ll be sure to keep on top of updates on a more regular basis in future.

Good luck with the mods. If you could bump this thread when it’s back in action that would be amazing.

    Thanks @harryfear , I shall do.

Just wondering if there is any update in this regard!

    Sorry, not just yet.
I have been working hard to get some Gutenberg support in place also.
    Apologies for the delay.
Note, the PRO version is still available during this time.

    Hi Todd,

I understand from reading this thread, that you are working as hard as you can on getting an update to your Great Plugin.

Just to let you know I have received a warning about one of the 3rd party libraries your plugin uses.

Warning: Vulnerable Freemius Library plugin found at ../wp-content/plugins/widgets-on-pages/freemius/start.php – Version: 1.2.1.6.1 – Please update this plugin immediately: https://wpvulndb.com/vulnerabilities/9223.

Your plugin is not listed on the vulnerabilities/9223 page.

Does the PRO version depend on the Freemius Version: 1.2.1.6.1 Library?

A speedy update would be great.

    Thanks Andrew
