    Good day,

I have a table called “wp_blc_links_old” that I believe it related to the Broken Link Checker plugin I used to have installed. Can I safely drop/delete this table now that the Broken Link Checker plugin has been removed?

    Thank you,

    Mike

    Hello @totalmotorcycle,

    I trust you’re doing well!

The following tables are created with the Brocken Link Checker plugin:

    _blc_filters
    _blc_instances
    _blc_links
    _blc_synch

Before removing the tables please make sure to have a backup of your site’s database. So if something will go wrong, you can always restore it.

Please feel free to try out the Garbage collector plugin that will safely remove unused tables on your site:

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers,

    Thanks Nastia!

From what you said, then I can assume wp_blc_links_old is safe to remove if I don’t have the Broken Link Checker plugin installed anymore as it appears _blc_ tables are Broken Link Checker plugin tables?

Sorry to push, we are just waiting on your thoughts if wp_blc_links_old is the same as _blc_links and thus fine to delete as for us, it is quite a big table at 17,541 rows and 32.5MB in size.

    Many thanks!

    Hello @totalmotorcycle

I hope you’re well today and sorry for the delay!

Yes, if you’re not using Broken Link Checker on site anymore, you can safely remove the wp_blc_links_old table.

In fact you could even remove it if the plugin was active on site because it’s not used by it – the only reason to possibly keep it there would be to keep it as an additional “backup” during some troubleshooting. Other than this though – it’s safe to get rid of it.

    Best regards,
    Adam
