Advertising on EVERY Page

  • Even after the update that spawned a controversy… I’ve updated 2x now. Still seeing spam messages on every admin page. So now I have to decide:

    a. drop the plugin
    b. find a hide the nag
    c. downgrade the app

    3 sites: 1 dropped the plugin entirely; 1 hid the nag screen… for the 3rd site, I will use another plugin without the nag on EVERY frickin’ page.

    Get this: I deactivate the plugin… nag screen stays put. I delete the plugin… I STILL see the nag screen. Finally, I had to hit the ‘x’ to close the nag screen.

    This is NOT good.

    If you’re still seeing errors, please consider downgrading to a pre-Black Friday version using wp rollback plugin.

    We understand that the Black Friday banner was annoying. Although it was dismissable, it was a bit buggy so last Thursday we released Yoast SEO v12.6.2 which completely removes the banner from the admin panel. After updating, you may need to clear any cache you may be running on your website.

    Thank you for taking the time to answer the problem, and fix it. Like someone said, Black Friday isn’t a particularly global phenomenon. It’d be kind of like selling “Single Day” products in a plugin in the US. Most people would be scratching their head, or wondering why there is a special day for hamburger cheese slices!
