    Hi there,

It seems shortcodes aren’t working from a child theme. Child theme generated with Child Theme Configurator. In particular, I’m trying [oceanwp_date] in the footer, and I’ve tried a previous solution copying partial/footer folder to child theme and replacing “<?php echo wp_kses_post( do_shortcode( $copy ) ); ?>” with “Copyright <?php echo do_shortcode( ‘[oceanwp_date]’ ); ?>, all right reserved.” with no luck. This is the case in both the footer and main page content (see link).

    Hello,

You can use the official oceanwp child theme – https://docs.oceanwp.org/article/90-sample-child-theme

Have you activated the ocean extra plugin? Does the code work in the Customize > Footer bottom – copyright section?

    Hi there,

I’m trying it now with the parent theme (no child theme) and having the same issue. Is the Extra plugin required for shortcodes? I’d rather not be installing additional plugins if possible.

Yes, without ocean extra the shortcode will not work and you don’t have all customization options in the theme like page-level settings, many customizer sections, etc. So please install Ocean Extra to fix the issue you have with your site.
