Latest Posts Block no option to display featured image of the post

Perhaps you’re confusing it with a third-party block provided by a plugin or another theme?

no, I do not mean the plugin but the Theme.

When I’ve updated my WordPress version to 5.3 first time, where Twenty Twenty was introduced in a demo, they showed the recent blogposts being displayed with the title, image, and an excerpt. In the real Twenty-Twenty theme, I do not have the option to display the latest posts with an image though. I wonder if there is a way to do so especially how the WordPress team did.

So there is really no native option in this theme to display the latest posts with the featured image of the post?

me too did expected there to be a recent posts widget similar to Anders Norén widget in his Chaplin Theme, because it was announced in the mockup for TwentyTwenty, as can be seen here in the screenshots:

I will try to rebuild that widget for the TwentyTwenty-Theme, but I am very bad at PHP, so it might take some time for me to accomplish it.
