Podcast Show Notes/Posts are Truncated

  • Hi, whenever I post podcast episodes only a fragment of my notes are displaying. Per the platforms, I’ve consulted, they pull descriptions from the <description> tag in the RSS feed.

    They say the show will need to include the full episode notes in the description tag in order for the full notes to appear on their platform. How do I change this in WordPress?

    Hi, I’ve asked them several times and they’ve tried to troubleshoot but have concluded, as well as I Heart support, that the issue is somewhere with my themes or description Meta that are truncating the posts, so only a snippet of my notes flow over.

    Where can I go on WordPress to ensure my posts are showing full posts?

    Try settings->reading and make sure the feed is for full text.

    Hi, I have done that already and it is set to full text not summary.

    Per I Heart Radio, “For episodes, we pull our description from the <description> tag in the RSS feed. …I’m seeing the episode descriptions getting cut short, so we are simply matching what is being provided to us… The show will need to include the full episode notes in the description tag in order for the full notes to appear on iHeartRadio”

    This really needs to be handled by the plugin developers.

    How do I just prevent my posts from truncating? Is there a fix for that?
