Hi, I’ve been searching this forum and the web and can’t find a description of what the Page Cache Advanced Settings checkbox to Enable Compatibility Mode actually does.

    What _does_ it do?

    Thanks.

    Hello @andymacb,
Thank you for your inquiry and I am happy to assist you with this.
Enabling Compatibility mode reduces the performance of the site by about 20% in return for the compatibility of the site with the plugin. If you do not experience compatibility issues, do not enable this feature. It adds more rules so things are a bit slower but work on more environments.

Such as?? (You basically just repeated what the text RIGHT below the checkbox says. (“Decreases performance by ~20% at scale in exchange for increasing interoperability with more hosting environments and WordPress idiosyncrasies. This option should be enabled for most sites.”)

Can you provide a more in-depth description?

Context: I manage a woocommerce site that periodically comes up with No Results Found on categories and products. If I re-save the permalinks page (with no modifications), everything comes back. If my issue is related to one or more of the compatibility factors, then I at least have some way of knowing whether this will help or not. I’ve turned it on for now, but won’t know the effect unless the problem shows up again, taking down my client’s online store in the process.

PS: I have the following cache exceptions:
    wp-.*\.php
    index\.php
    cart
    checkout
    my-account
    /product-category/.+
    /product/.+
    /wp-content/et-cache/.+
