    Hello All,

Just wanted to see if it’s necessary for me to sign up for 2 wordpress accounts for my blog.

I have 2 types of articles on my blog: 1 for general topics, and one for restaurant reviews. I want the “content” of the restaurant reviews to be displayed differently from the “content” of the general topics (ie. one has “published date” and one doesn’t, one has “author name” and one does and so on) But I want the both types of articles to be published to the same blog with the same sidebar and all.

If I have to sign up for 2 accounts, how would I integrate them?

    Hope you can help!

  • There is no need to register twice with wordpress even if you download the software multiple times.

You have a few options for having two blogs or sub-blogs on one site.

    You can either

a)install wordpress twice – once to /blogA and again to /blogB and use the same theme for both

    or

    b)use wordpressMU for multiple blogs

    Thanks for your reply.

For option A, does this mean that in my Sidebar, under “Category” I could have list of categories from both blogs?

    For example

    Category
    – Healthy Food
    – Restaurant Reviews

Can I set it up so that the “Content” for Healthy Food articles to look different from the “Content” for Restaurant Reviews articles? By different, I mean like different font size, different format etc.

    Thanks

Also, I want my “Recent Posts” to list entries from both blogs together in one list.

I guess another way of asking about this is “Can I format the article content differently for different categories?”

I am not sure you need two blogs.

If you are doing a food site with two categories “Healthy Food” and “Restaurant Reviews” you can have an opening static page with welcome to your site with no posts showing – and then visitors click on a “Healthy Food” or “Restaurant Reviews” category for the information they want.

A post can belong to more than one category so you could sort Restaurant Reviews by type (burgers, noodles etc) or location (city or area) (or both!) Categories can also have sub-categories (some themes are better than others with the display)

Each post can be formatted any way that you want for font size etc.

This is a site that I am working on that has nested categories (locations for boating safety class locations) Maybe that will help with ideas a bit.

Thanks Saildude. What I was looking for was a way to customize different templates for different categories. I started a new thread and got help for it.
