Image resize problem still not fixed!
-
Gutenberg has some really neat ideas and things that have a lot of potential here. Unfortunately the flaws remains.
For example: When adding an image gallery with Gutenberg it still resize the linked picture to the 1024x* version and not to the original source file. It’s a pain! Why!? This issue got reported several times and it’s still not fixed. My visitors actually always asked me why they cant download the pictures in full resolution. That’s why i am using since 2 years the classic editor. Why this doesn’t get fixed finally? Even though when its get fixed someday I have to re-edit every single post on my side to change the linked pictures? No thanks! For private SEO blogs or fashion blogs whatever with a kilometer of text this might be okay but not for a website that offers high quality images. Plus installing millions of extra plugins to fix this issue isn’t really the best way to keep your site safe. We are no bloggers! – We build websites! WordPress finally should slip off this hipster blogging cliche finally.
The idea of Gutenberg is very good but the whole UI and the flaws are not practical for productive environments.
