• First off, great plugin Sivel. Maybe this a real easy question. I purchased the license for the JW FLV player and was going to use it on something else, but then I ran across your plugin and when I installed it, it worked much better. So, the real question for you is…

Can I change the skin of the JW FLV player with one from the longtailvideo site? Is there some searching through the js files? Thanks for you help.

  • I have never done this, but from my understanding you need to modify the flashvars to specify the location of the skin. To modify the flashvars go to Settings->Shadowbox JS and click “Show Advanced Settings”. Towards the bottom you will see a textarea for flashvars. Fill this out as required by the JW FLV Player and click “Save Changes”.

Thanks sivel, I am going to try that out.. one more question. It has nothing to do with the Flash player, but it doesn’t seem my Shadowbox is opening up HTML documents…

    For example… https://76.12.48.99/about-us/our-staff/

This is our staff page. I want to open up small HTML documents that carry our bios. I have the HTML box checked in the Shadowbox players area. Any ideas, or am I just missing something really simple?

A limitation of shadowbox is that it cannot determine the player to use with a friendly permalink when operating on the same domain shadowbox is loaded on, and thus will just open normally.

You can fix this by specifying the player to use:

    <a href="https://example.org/something/" rel="shadowbox;player=iframe;">Something</a>

Ok, thanks sivel, I got it to work, but it isn’t playing nice with NextGen Gallery. I created a custom field for the url link.. I might have to create another field for the rel attribute in order to get it to work. I appreciate your responsiveness and help.

I created a custom field using the ngg custom field plugin and created a new nextgen template specifically for the gallery I wanted to show up in the Shadowbox. It worked great
