Cannot create Mailing Group with v1.6.4

1) install virgin WP 5.2.4 and setup.
2) Add wp-mailing-group 1.6.4 plugin (free version)
3) Goto “Mailing Group Manager” – “Mailing Groups” – “Add New Mailing Group” button
4) Fill out top of “Add/Edit Mailing Group” page, verifying IMAP connectivity to gmail account via the “Test imap connection” button.
5) Choose “WP Mail”
6) Skip down to “Settings for Subscription Request messages”, and enter:
Sender name: Group Admin
Sender email: [email protected] (substitute real name here)
7) Under “Mailing Group Status”, set
Status: Active
Visibility: Public
8) Now press “Add Mailing Group” button AND NOTHING HAPPENS AND THERE ARE NO WARNINGS!!!
9) PRESS “Add Mailing Group” button ten times, and nothing happens.
Go back to left-hand menu to “Mailing Group Manager” – “Mailing Groups” item
The “Mailing Groups” page appears, but there are no groups listed in the table at the bottom.
10) Repeat “Add New Mailing Group”. Rinse and repeat process – CANNOT CREATE A NEW GROUP.
