Left sidebar menus disappeared

  • We have been thrilled with the Education Base theme for the last 2 years and are excited that it is still meeting our needs!

    However, about 2 weeks ago the left sidebar menus on all subpages disappeared (ex: Lunch Menu, School Board, etc). The space for the menus is present, but the menus aren’t visible. Ironically, when I go into Customize and change the default menu setup to either Right Side or Both Sides, the menus will appear beautifully but on the right side.

    No site customizations or updates were done within the 2 months leading up to the menu disappearance. What could have caused the menu to disappear on the left side of the site and how can we get them to appear on the left side once again? (I currently have the menus to appear on the right side of the site so users have access to site content)

    Dear bhaugen,

    Please follow the following procedure.

    • Customizer Setting:
    1. Go to Appearance => Customize => Layout/Design Option => Default Page/Post Sidebar
    2. Select Left Sidebar from Default Page/Post Sidebar Layout
    • Widget Setting:
    1. Go to Appearance Widgets
    2. You will see different sidebar areas, Move widgets from Sidebar to Sidebar Left or Add new widgets to Sidebar Left

    Please note that whatever you added on Sidebar Left, will appear on Left Sidebar.

    Regarding another query of disappearance, we believe someone ( or in someway ) removes or reset widgets from Sidebar Left.

    In my original post, I should have mentioned that the sidebars that disappeared were Custom Sidebars so various pages could have additional options. For example, the School Board page has School Board Minutes and Annual Budget Report in its Custom Sidebar. These Custom Sidebars used to follow the default Left Sidebar setting, but as of several weeks ago (again, no updates done for 2 months prior to the Custom Sidebars disappearing) they disappeared. Any suggestions on how to get these Custom Sidebars to follow the default sidebar location?

    Sidenote – when I switch the default sidebar to Left Sidebar, the main sidebar menu (Sidebar Left) appears on all the pages so we no longer have the additional options like School Board Minutes and Annual Budget Report on the School Board page. (similar story with the other pages)

    Dear bhaugen,

    We believe you have added custom sidebar using some plugin.
    The theme just has basic code for the sidebar.

    We would like to suggest you contact plugin supports or contacting your hosting provider to restore your site before the issue may solve the issue.
