Changing original text, but keep the translation the same.

    Hi, i was wondering how does it structurally work when i rewrite a paragraph – the translation only matches the previous text so i have to write the translation all over again as well.

    Is there a way to change a paragraph, and leave the translation the same? Do i change the original text in translatepress or with my pagebuilder?

    Looking for the correct workflow.

    Side question – can I translate url slugs as well? I couldn’t find that option.

    Hello,

    Unfortunately that’s a limitation of how we’re doing translations. Those are basically different strings, thus the translation is invalidated.

    All translations are saved into you wp_trp_* tables from your database. If you change a string in the default language, the translation of that string will continue to exists in the database, but will no longer be displayed at the front end level.

    Also, URL slugs can be translated using our SEO Pack Add-on that comes with the premium versions of our plugin.

    Thanks for clearing that up!

    Translatepress is amazing, except for exactly this problem. So even when I change a paragraph or just one word in the original file, the translation is “lost”.
    Is there a way to at least see the lost translations, so that I can copy them and add it to the site again?
    Or just a warning, that the original text changed but keep the translation in place?
