• I have an existing static website at: lets-eatnow.com. I would like to transfer this site into WordPress. Do I need to rebuild it in WordPress? Can I copy and paste the html into WordPress? I need to know ASAP so any response will be REALLY appreciated? Thanks!

  • Html and PHP and two different worlds. What you can do is put up a WP website and post what is on the old website as posts. That’s what I did a couple of years ago. Hundreds and hundreds of “posts”, tedious job, but the only way I knew and know how to do it.

Thank you! It seems to me that is probably what I’ll need to do. I’ll probably need to create a static front page in WordPress and build out from there. So, it looks like, in the end, a complete rebuild in WP. That is…unless someone else has a better idea? If not…well, there you have it.

Thanks, again Gangleri! I appreciate your quick response.

First do a WP install and fool around a bit with it so you know what you can do with posts, pages, categories, tags, etc. Your website can become more dynamic. Maybe you don’t want it exactly like it used to be.

I think I’ll park my current website in a folder on my host server. Then upload the new version of WP for the URL lets-eatnow.com. I can build from there unless you advise otherwise. The whole reason for doing this is that the website needs updating, rearranging and so forth. It will be so much easier to do this in WP than in what I’ve got now.

    Thanks Roy! You’re an angel!
